Hello there!
I'm Mitra, a digital multimedia artist with a background in 3D Modeling and Animation based in Dubai, UAE.Creating art has been one of the few things in my life that has brought me immense joy and excitement. It is what I use to express my emotions and communicate with people. I find it to be the most natural and easiest way to do so.I love to draw all sorts of things, usually centered around characters I've created myself or fan art for media that I'm interested in.Apart from illustrating, I also enjoy writing stories, and I often integrate these into my art, because what is art if not just another form of storytelling? I really want to be able to create my own comic series or animated series in the future with memorable characters and meaningful stories. I look forward to being able to create more visually appealing and cohesive art as I acquire more knowledge and skills.

"Interview with the Vampire Tarot Deck" - Fandom Project
When AMC released their adaptation of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire (IWTV 2022), I was immediately hooked. In the couple of years that followed, I have drawn quite a few fan works for the show, so when @nocontextlestat (a popular creator in the fandom who has organized multiple fan projects that have gotten the attention of the cats and crew of the show) reached out to me to ask if I'd like to answer her open call for artists to work on an IWTV themed tarot deck, I immediately accepted.Since it was an open call, there was no guarantee that my portfolio would get me to the final round of artists who would work on this project, but out of the 150 applicants, I was one of 75 that were chosen.

"Hello - It's You" (Ongoing)
“Hello – It’s You” is an immersive exploration of memory and self-discovery, merging illustrations and text in the form of hypertext electronic literature. This project invites the viewer to navigate a dynamic, nonlinear journey, where fragments of the past and present interact, revealing the complexities of personal identity. Through this fusion of visual storytelling and textual exploration, I want to engage the audience in a dialogue about how memory shapes who we are, and how the act of revisiting those memories becomes a journey through metamorphosis .
Text

The project started as an illustration series, but since then I have decided to publish this as a hypertext electronic literature after I did a lot of research into net art for a research paper.I'm currently working on mapping the story and plan to release this project in chapters on a separate website, which I have begun coding. My current goal is to release chapter 1 by next year.

"Tales from Janus City" - Personal Project (Ongoing)
Tales from Janus City follows Orion Solo, an ex-cop turned criminal, who has a run in with genius, criminal mastermind Aurelius Archer after a deal gone wrong. Shenanigans ensue.Initially, I was going for a pure noir aesthetic and story, but shifted to a futuristic setting. The story is set in space, with Janus City being a colony on one of Jupiter's moons (TBD). The world building for this project is still ongoing but I am hoping to turn this into a graphic novel at some point.

"nameless"
This multimedia project is a story of loneliness, grief, loss, and most importantly, hope. The initial idea for this project had been to create a series of illustrations depicting the stories of these characters, who are basically just me stuck at different stages of my life - the joyous child, the angry teenager, the gloomy young adult. The fourth character is one that I created in hopes of becoming them some day. Someone who’s carried the weight of all the other characters before them but learns to let go. There is also a fifth, more elusive, character, who I created in mind as an amalgamation of all the people in my life; my family, my friends, my exes. All the people who have had influence on me and my life, both in ways that have helped and harmed me.

As I started thumbnailing for the illustration series however, I felt like it was too limiting of a medium, and I started thinking about how I could incorporate animation into my work. A full- fledged animation seemed like too much as well, and I thought about how I wanted people to interact with my work, which is why I finally settled on creating an interactive visual web novel for this project. I want people to actively engage with my work, feel like they are part of the story. An artist who has been a big inspiration to me for years, Ice (@illustraice) creates massive multi-media projects consisting of articles, sketches and websites, many of which require her audience to solve puzzles and such to access. This level of direct engagement with the work creates a more unique interaction between the artist, her audience, and the artwork itself, and it is something I want to be able to achieve with my art too. Most of my work is digital and static, and I’m hoping that through this project, I can share a compelling and relatable story in an unforgettable way
"Robin Hood Reimagined" - Personal Project (Ongoing)
This project started with a sketch I made of a genderbent Robin Hood in a modern setting, inspired by the Disney animated Robin Hood. When I first saw it as a child, I always thought Maid Marian was a hijabi because of her head scarf, so it made sense to me to make her a hijabi in my reimagined version. I'd also read that in a lot of the classic Robin Hood tales, Maid Marian was said to be just as good as, if not better than, Robin Hood as archery, which is what gave me the inspiration for these illustrations. In this project, I reimagine Robin Hood and Mariam Mansour (Maid Marian) as rival competitive archers turned friends, and later more. This is an ongoing project, and I have plans to create more illustrations and mini comics for these characters as well.
"Night Begins To Shine" - Personal Project

This was a personal project I worked on for fun where I drew my friends and I as characters in an apocalypse setting. There was an internet prompt: "search [your name] + [apocalypse costume] to get your custom outfit". I asked my friends to send their results, and also choose a color palette from a group of 'retro' color palettes. The title comes from the Teen Titans Go show which has an episode of the same name and features the song 'Night Begins To Shine' by B.E.R. which is what inspired me to add the 80's synth wave twist to this project.
"Mauni Nagar - Environment Concept"
I wanted to challenge myself and work creating an environment concept, since my work is mostly focused on character concepts.Mauni Nagar was inspired by the many temples in South Asia, especially in India, and I used specific architecture in these locations as inspiration.

"A Night in 1945" - Group Project
This is another group project I worked on during my time in SAE.I was the character modeler for this project. I also created the storyboard and composited a few shots. There were many challenges during the making of this project, but with the help of my facilitator and group members I was able to do my best.
